Put simply, Altitude Scholarships is magnificent. The notion of social justice and equity has never been more important in Australian society than it is at the moment. Altitude Scholarships provides a platform for students and their families to succeed in a critical facet of life – education. Education gives our youth the keys to many different futures – a future that because of Altitude Scholarships has many additional future doors – more opportunities in life.

Altitude Scholarships is a highly respected not-for-profit organisation that gives young people the chance to fulfill their potential by providing scholarships to talented and motivated students who may otherwise not be in a position to pursue their academic dreams.

The positive impact Altitude Scholarships has had on the lives of our students over the last 18 months is truly remarkable, and a testament to the team's ability to connect with the Noosa community. Sunshine Beach State High School is renown for its focus on the development of positive relationships with students and the community, with multiple pathways for students and high quality teaching, learning and innovation. We maintain strong links with several universities, and community organizations to provide opportunities for our students that create successful, engaged and innovative citizens for the future.

Altitude Scholarships through its scholarship program has made the pathway to success for some of our most talented, yet disadvantaged students a reality. Altitude Scholarships partnership with Sunshine Beach State High School in the developing of its scholarship program has been able to ignite the fire in a number of our students. These students, who, through not fault of their own, would not have been able to reach their full potential without the financial assistance provided by Altitude Scholarships.

As Principal of Noosa District State High School since 2019, I was thrilled to have Altitude Scholarships choose to partner with us, to support some of our most talented and financially disadvantaged students to be able to fully participate in education and enhance their talents at school and beyond to university studies.

Founder Tara Bell is a true professional who has put together a highly experienced team of professionals across a broad spectrum of fields to support students in ours and other schools. This team has done exceptional work to engage the broader community to support this worthy cause and investment in the community’s future, it’s youth.

To date more than 20 Noosa District State High School students have received scholarships from Altitude Scholarships. In every single instance this recognition and support has motivated each student to strive for even greater heights. 2019 recipient Lillie Mellin graduated in 2020 with an ATAR of 99.65 placing her in the top 1% of students in Queensland and every graduating student to date who has received a scholarship is attending University and doing well. This would not have been possible for some students without the ongoing financial support and motivation of the Chances Organisation.

Later this year I look forward to another dozen or so students joining the Altitude Scholarships cohort.
